Funbridge Points
They are calculated as follows:
Points earned = 2 x (Number of participants + 1 - Rank) / log10(Rank +2)
Expert Points (FFB)
The awarding of Expert Points for a tournament is calculated based on the following formula:
T = BV x N x 5/18
Where:
- T = number of Expert Points to award
- BV = variable coefficient detailed below
- N = number of players
BV is calculated as follows:
If N<=25 |
BV=X |
If 25>N<=50 |
BV=8N/5 + X - 40 |
If 50>N<100 |
BV=2 N/5 + X + 20 |
If N>=100 |
BV=X + 60 |
With X=100 (coefficient for afternoon tournaments sanctioned by the FFB).
The number of points awarded to each player is calculated based on the following formula:
A(r)=K x ((N + a) / r - a)^m (Please note that "m" is an exponent and means "to the power m") where:
- K is a multiplier set so that the sum of the points awarded is equal to the overall number of points.
- a=3/2, which allows to award Expert Points to two thirds of the participants.
- r is the rank reached by the player.
- Up to 50 players: the m exponent is equal to 1/2.
- Beyond 50 players: m=1/2 - L/60 with L=Napierian logarithm (N/4).
Green Points (FSB)
The number of Green Points awarded at the end of a tournament is equal to twice the number of players in the tournament.
The number of points awarded to each player is calculated based on the following formula:
A(r)=K x ((N + a) / r - a)^m (Please note that "m" is an exponent and means "to the power m") where:
- K is a multiplier set so that the sum of the points awarded is equal to the overall number of points.
- a=2, which allows to award Green Points to half of the participants.
- r is the rank reached by the player.
- Up to 50 players: the m exponent is equal to 1/1.9.
- Beyond 50 players: m=1/1.9 - L/60 with L=Napierian logarithm (N/4).
Master Points (EBU)
Master points are awarded to the top 1/3 of players, rounded up.
Each player is awarded 3*(n-p+1) points, where:
n=number of awards
p=place of player
Exception: the lowest possible award is 6, so the lowest place receiving an award will usually get 6 (rather than 3).
When places are tied, Master Points are shared but rounded up to the nearest 3.
Example for 34 players: 12 players receive Master Points.

Masterpoints (NBF)
Masterpoints are awarded based on the following principle agreed by the NBF:
- The winner wins a number of points equal to 1.5 times the number of participants.
- The next players win the number of points earned by the player preceding them multiplied by:
The minimum between (player's rank / (player's rank + 1)) and (maximum between 2/3 and exp( (log (4/preceding player's points)) / ((number of players / 3) - player's rank + 1)).
- At the end of the tournament, all points are divided by two and rounded up.
Masterpoints (TBF)
Masterpoints are awarded by the TBF directly. Please get in touch with the federation to find out more about the calculation method used.
Robot Bridge Points (WBF)
1st place: 1,500 WRBP (maximum)
2nd place: 80% of maximum
3rd place: 70% of maximum
4th place: 60% of maximum
5th – 19th place: 55% of maximum
20th – 39th place: 50% of maximum
40th – 59th place: 45% of maximum
60th – 79th place: 40% of maximum
80th – 99th place: 35% of maximum
100th – 119th place: 30% of maximum
120th – 139th place: 25% of maximum
140th – 159th place: 20% of maximum
160th – 179th place: 15% of maximum
180th – 200th place: 10% of maximum
Please note that only 50% of participants will earn points. For instance, if there are 60 participants, only the top 30 players will earn WRBP according to the point scale above.
