There are 20 groups on Funbridge ranging from Elite, the highest on, to four Clubs, the lowest one:
Elite, 1S, 1H, 1D, 1C, 2NT, 2S, 2H, 2D, 2C, 3NT, 3S, 3H, 3D,3C, 4NT, 4S, 4H, 4D, 4C.
S=Spade
H=Heart
D=Diamond
C=Club
NT=No trumps
Players repartition in those 20 groups is made according to a percentage value; with the exception of the Elite group,
for which the number of players is fixed and set to 50.

To those 20 groups, 2 other groups are added:
-New: this group is composed of all new players on Funbridge.
-Non Premium: this group is composed of all players who are non-premium.
The ranking is established at each period end.
A period lasts 15 days, running from the 1st to the 15th day of the month, and from the 16th to the end of the month.
To be ranked, a player must have played at least 5 tournaments of your series during the current period.
Any Premium player who did not play his 5 tournaments of his series during the current period goes down in the lower group.
You have to play at least 25 tournaments to hope go up in the higher group in the end of the period (15 days).
Exceptions:
- in the 4C series, non premium and new members: 5 tournaments are enough to pretend to the higher serie.
- in the Elite serie: you have to play 25 tournaments to hope kept in this serie.
Non premium members are in the non premium serie.
A new player on Funbridge will be included to the group of new players. At the end of the period, he will then move on to the appropriate
group based on his ranking but if and only if he has played at least 5 tournaments of his series during this same period.
At the end of each period:
In each series, the amount of players who move up to a higher group (series) equals 20% of the amount of players standing in this higher group.
For example:
you are in the series 4C and there are 100 players in the series 4P: 20 players will move up from the series 4C to the series 4P.
The amount of players who move down to a lower group equals 20% of the amount of players standing in this same group.
For example:
you are in the series 4P and there are 100 players standing in this series. At the end of the period, 20 players of the series 4P will move down to the series 4C.
Caution, since the 1st of July 2008, a player who is Premium during the whole period and who did not connect to Funbridge at least once, will not move down to a lower group (except for Elite serie). Players who are in this particular case to not belong to the 20% of players who move down in a lower serie.
Any connection to Funbridge software during a period cancels the previous rule. We consider that since a player can connect to Funbridge, he is able to play the number of tournament required to hope to be maintained in his/her series.
Of course, a player cannot move down from group 19 (4C) or move up from Elite group.
A non-Premium player, who is thus playing in the non-premium group, and who decide to subscribe to a Premium membership will move (up or down)
to the group which corresponds to his results just as if he was playing in the New Player group.
Bonus
The bonus system rewards players who have played the highest number of competition tournaments.
For each 10 tounrmants played, we do not take into account the two tournaments getting the worst whose percentage.
(NB: the 4 worst among your 20 tournaments and not the 2 worst among the first 10 tournaments and the 2 worst among the following 10 tournaments)
Ranking points in IMP points
In the Bridge game, there are two different notations:
- Marking percentage called scoring pairs corresponding to tournaments where many players play same deals and where the goal is to achieve a better score than the other players
- IMP that the notation is rather reserved for tournament team whose goal is to achieve the largest possible gap compared to other players
Example :
You play 3NT with a 9-raising head (already bought), pairs tournament, you should try to make an additional waiver (sometimes at risk to drop the contract) whereas IMP scoring, we will simply lifted the 9 s If there is any risk of falling by trying to make an additional.
Details :
If your opponent has 3SA equal: + 600 pts, performing 3NT +1 (+ 630 pts), you will make a difference of 30 points, a gain of 1 IMP. Note however, if you fall, your score would be - 100 pts, the difference will be 700 points and you lose 12 IMP.

The above table is used as it is when comparing these 2 teams and for example, a gap of 30 points on a deal is far from 1 IMP.
But when the comparison is done on hundreds of players like on Funbridge, then comparing each result to the "average score" of the deal. While it is possible that gaps are different but the same score in IMP for some players not having the same score in points, for example:
tournament n°247135, average score: 205
Player X : score 630 gives a difference of 425 (630-205)
Player Y : score 660 gives a difference of 455 (660-205)
The 2 gaps 425 and 455 fall within the same range: 420 -> 490 = 10 IMP
Note that this calculation is that used by the World Bridge Federation (WBF) and the French Bridge Federation (FFB).
